ABOUT US

Four States Urban Development is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.  The project was established to help families in need.  Currently, our organization is focusing on providing after-school and summer programs for our community while forming partnerships with local nonprofits to provide essential needs for our local families.

Tina Jones, Executive Director

  Tina Jones grew-up in the Texarkana, Arkansas. She has always had a strong desire to get involved in her community. While she attended college, she worked with abused children by volunteering her time as a mentor.  When she completed her internship at the Department of Human Services, her love for social work deepened. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Henderson State University in 1993. 

  She has a background in accounting and business management. She also has an extensive background in working with people of various backgrounds. She has worked with exchange students to young men and women who have drug and alcohol problems to families with low socioeconomic backgrounds.  While she was a business administrator at S&L Properties, she founded a program called Community Hearts Outreach. This program helped those who have a difficult time keeping a job to be given another chance in the construction business. 

  For five years, she  worked as a Section 8 Housing Specialist. She gained valuable experience in working with low-income families and gained knowledge in federal regulations in housing. Currently she is working in the education field as a reading interventionist , along with her duties as the director of Four States Urban Development Project.  She graduated with a Master in Science degree from Texas A&M, Texarkana. Her philosophy in life is to never stop learning and to stay involved in your community.
